Record Store Day 2010 blog

Editor's note: On April 17, 2010, we ran a running blog for Record Store Day on the Static and Feedback front page. Here's a quick recapture of what went down:

12:34 a.m.: Well, the Red Sox lost two games in one night, and the Braves were no-hit by Ubaldo Jimenez and the Rockies. Thank God for records, huh?

5:45 p.m.: OK, there's baseball to be watched, dinner to be had and plans to be kept. We hope you all have enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) Record Store Day. But, as you might've guessed, there's only so long you can stay at the keyboard.

4:42 p.m.: Radio Static! Matt and Nick get all giddy over Record Store Day, and play you a few tunes they were able (and not able) to snag. LISTEN!

3:49 p.m.: Matt and Nick have already recorded a new episode of Radio Static, which is currently being edited. In the meantime, please enjoy the inside of the Dark Side of the Moon gatefold.

1:07 p.m.: Matt is very proud of himself.

12:53 p.m.: Matt Berry checks in from Wuxtry Records in Athens, Ga. He missed out on R.E.M's Chronic Town reissue.

12:42 p.m.: Nick remembers how awesome Soundgarden was.

11:35 a.m.: Green Flaming Lips! And by extention, green Stardeath and the White Dwarfs, green Henry Rollins, and green Peaches. Who needs Roger Waters?

10:50 a.m.: Nick has just returned from Newbury Comics, and was not what we would call "disciplined." He's what we call "vulgar."

9:42 a.m.: Nick Tavares is off to Newbury Comics in North Dartmouth, with his eyes on the Flaming Lips/Stardeath and the White Dwarfs vision of Dark Side of the Moon.

Keep tabs on all things Record Store Day at Facebook and twitter, and follow the discussion on the message boards. But only after you go out and support your favorite independent shop.
